Inaugurated in 1985 as a tribute to John Lennon by the city of New York, strawberry fields offers visitors an opportunity to discover a unique garden of “Peace”that fully embodies John Lennon’s vision of a peaceful world. The imagine mosaic is the highlight of strawberry fields and you will get a chance to shortly step out of the carriage and check it out for a photo opportunity. The Dakota building, where he and his wife lived and in front of which he was assassinated in 1980, is right across the street. You will also have an opportunity to snap a photo of it. The other sites covered are the same as the 45 min carriage ride including Bethesda fountain & terrace, Cherry hill (photo stop), Tavern on the green, Summer stage, The Central lake ice skating rink, Balto statue and more.
